Village of Poynette Poynette...naturally. Those words say a lot about this community  which is an ideal place to live, work and raise a family. Called the "Community of Four Seasons," the Poynette area is a great place to visit or headquarter during a vacation. Poynette, located on Lake Wisconsin, is an area that abounds with fishing, hunting and other recreational opportunities. Within a 20-mile radius there are more than 15,000 acres of public wildlife land. Poynette is also home to the MacKenzie Environmental Center and State Game Farm. The Center annually attracts 100,000 visitors who stroll along the nature trails, view the  wildlife exhibits, enjoy the 250 acres of forests and study at the educational center. The Game Farm annually raises a large crop of pheasants, which are released throughout the state prior to hunting season.
