Welcome...   Welcome to Columbia County

Lake Wisconsin Circle Tour

    Full Day Trip

Columbia County This circle tour is designed for use from April 15th thru November 30th to coincide with the seasonal operation of the Colsac III Free Ferry which crosses Lake Wisconsin. In season the Ferry operates 24 hours a day, 7 days each week. The Ferry is closed during the winter. An early thaw or late freeze may alter operation dates. You may confirm ferry operation by calling this number: (608)246-3871.

The Lake Wisconsin Circle Tour is a full-day trip. Most of the roads you will travel are curvy and hilly county trunk and township roads. Your driving speed will vary greatly with the terrain. We Columbia County recommend a leisurely 45 mph or less on these country roads.

In warmer weather there are multiple township parks for picnicking during your tour. There are a number of quality restaurants and resorts serving food and refreshments along the route. Additionally, you will find other shops and farm markets along the way.

The Circle Tour is quite scenic any time of the year, especially during the Fall colors.
