Day Trips and Tours

     Amish Community Tour

This tour consists of mostly rural county trunk roads and township roads once you enter the Amish Community area featured in gold on the map.

The entire tour may be easily completed in a day of leisurely driving and allows for multiple stops at businesses of interest, including Amish owned and Amish-Heritage businesses selling authentic Amish goods.

     Antiques & Collectibles Tour

This day trip takes you to some of the most interesting antique and collectible shops in the region! One even has an actual museum for your viewing.

The Antiques and Collectibles Day Trip can be easily driven in a single day and still allow you plenty of "treasure hunting" at each shop.

     Bridges of Columbia County

Re-live the early days of the 1900s when wooden bridges dotted the landscape and the standard vehicle in rural America was the horse and buggy!

See 4 wooden bridges, 1 remodeled with a steel deck, and 2 cement arch bridges - plus an old and almost forgotten steel bridge crossing the Crawfish River at Columbus.

     Lake Wisconsin Circle Tour

The Lake Wisconsin Circle Tour is a full-day trip. Most of the roads you will travel are curvy and hilly county trunk and township roads. Your driving speed will vary greatly with the terrain. We recommend a leisurely 45 mph or less on these country roads.

The Circle Tour is quite scenic any time of the year, especially during the Fall colors, and from April 15th thru November 30th cross Lake Wisconsin  on the Colsac III Free Ferry !

Rustic Road Tour #49 and #69

Travel along the historic Portage Canal enjoying the wetlands that serve as a habitat for sandhill cranes, blue heron, and many other birds.

Also visit the historic Indian Agency House, the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, and view the remnants of the Old Fort Winnebago Locks.
